Who are we?

Mel (the head), Chris (the chimp), Michelle (the leaf) and Courtney (the hand)

So if you can't tell, this is us trying to impersonate the JGI logo. Mel is the head, Chris is the chimp, Michelle is the leaf and Courtney is the hand.

Greetings from Uganda! I’m from Mulgrave School in West Vancouver, and am incredibly excited to be working with the Jane Goodall Institute in Uganda. Uganda is an amazing country, filled with beautiful sights and very friendly people. We have had a terrific first week together, and I am very much looking forward to our environmental education workshops next week.

Chris

I didn’t really know much about Jane Goodall before I started this project, but over these past few months she has become one of my heroes. Africa is nothing like what I expected, and working with JGI is a great privilege. I hope you get inspired by our stories, and want to learn more about environmental education!

Michelle

After many years as a bank executive I changed careers and fulfilled my desire to become a teacher. When the opportunity presented itself to use my teaching skills to help the JGI in Uganda- I jumped at the chance. I thought, “what an amazing way to give back”. During this trip I am starting to realize, that I will be the one to gain the most from this experience.
